Thank You God
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

My life has taken so many turns in recent years but I have always been able to pull through what ever hard times I faced. I just want ot thank Jesus for that. Without him I don't know what I would have done. In four years I have lost 2 grand parents and my dad. My brother has been diagnosed with cancer and I have lost a close friend. If it had not been for the grace of God I don't know how I would make it through. So Thank you Lord for all you've done.

EMANCIPATION?
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Old pirates yes they rob I
Sold I to the merchant ships
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit
But my hands were made strong
By the hand of The Almighty
We forward in this generation, Triumphantly

Won't you help to sing,
These songs of freedom
Cause all I ever had
Redemption songs,

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery
None but ourselves can free our minds
have no fear for atomic energy
Cause none of them can stop the time
How long shall they kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look
Some say its just a part of it
We've got to fulfil the book

Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom
Cause all I ever had
Redemption songs..........

Daddy
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

I was Daddy's girl. I went everywhere he went and was niece to all of his friends. He was the one I looked to for comfort, for protection he was Daddy and I was his little girl. I became a teenager and hated him most of these years. He was ruining my life, he didn't love me why didn't he go away. I grew into a young woman and realized that he always loved me. I realised that he was not superman but only human. He couldnot move mountains he was just a human like everybody else. He was getting older, his body was getting weaker. I realised that I was losing him. He became weak and frail. A completely different person. Superman he was no longer. My dying father he became. I am Daddy's little girl no more. I have no Daddy. I am now just a girl :(

I MISS YOU DADDY

Loved by many and hated by many (thats the way it is when u are a politician.) He will be missed by many. LEts pray for our nation that we are able to get past this. And go into the future with the hope that his legacy will inspire others to strive for his level of success.

RIP Sir John.

Youth on Poverty Seminar

The 2007 youth pariamentarians of St. Lucia wanted to be different. Just the concept of different speaks of obstacles. However, thanks to God we are now embarking on our second project to help play our part in the war on poverty, A Youth on poverty Seminar. It should take place Tuesday 21 August 2007 if all goes well. As our island was just blessed with minor damages from hurricane Dean this may signal a couple days set back for the seminar. Please keep figures cross that this project may be a success.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

On Saturday the youth parlamentarians went to visit to home for the less fortunate. The Children's Home and one of the Seior Citizens' Homes. I must say I had a great time in the presence of both the children and the elderly. The children were so polite and so happy to see us. They played with us and they even called me big sister. It was great. I am definitely going back to see my little sister and brother again. they are so cute!! I even have their pictures. I am going to get them framed and put them up!

The senior citizens were great as well. They were very energetic and jovial. I definitely want to go back to see them also.

It was a good day. Were brought food hampers to them and also we gave the senior citizens a television.

I love community work by the way. That is why i am so excited!!!

Youth Parliament

"No body knows what we want or hears our voice." The youth often feel isolated or weigh down by stigmas. the 2007 Youth Parliamentarians as Shernel posted are trying to play their part to change this and get the ball rolling for the institutiionaization of a Youth Parliament in St. Lucia. It is hoped that more youth will get on board and promot this initiative. It start with you. It starts with me.

Youth Parliament Again

So or parliament session has come to an end and we got very good feedback from the general public. We decided to continue as a group this year and to contribute more to the community. This is the first step towards having the government of St. Lucia establish a permanent youth parliament. I need your opinion guys. WHat do u think? Is haveing s permanent youth parliament to address youth issues a good idea?

Anothe Youth Parliament Update

So our parliament session has been pushed back to the 8 of May. This is due to the national budget being held during that same week. I am not disappointed I have more time to prepare my speech. I am really looking forward to this years session AI think or rather hope that it will be the best youth parliament ever.

Youth Parliament

I am no longer a minister. I am now a senator. I get to speak on whatever issue relating to poverty that I like so i am here trying to come up with something. I am completely lost. I am leaning to the effects of poverty on the HIV/AIDS rate or on Education. Not sure yet. I have to have a speech tomorrow mind you. So I am Here probably for the entire night.

Youth Parliament
Related to country: Saint Lucia

So this month is youth moonth in St. Lucia and as part of our annual youth month activities the Annual Youth Parliament sitting will be held on the 26 of April. I was selected to be one of the parliamentarians. We are to debate a resolution "that the government of St. Lucia should invest all necessary resources in a sustained attack on poverty with the aim of providing better life chances for our youth and the opportunity for them to participate meaningfully in and thereby accelerate National Development." What say you?Wish me luck.......

Happy Birthday To Me!!!

Today is or was my birthday. I didn't do much. Had a long day at the office. Went home and tried to relax for a while before I studied. Maybe I'll do something on the weekend.

Sad But True

What would make a young, promising young woman decide to traffic drugs?Somebody tell me why a person with her entire future ahead of her would even think of risking all of that.
